FAIRFIELD, Ohio — A federal workplace safety agency is looking into the death of a 53-year-old man southwest Ohio who was killed while doing maintenance at a bowling alley.
Authorities say the man was trapped in the pin-setting machinery and died at Northwest Bowling Alley in Fairfield.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration had an investigator at the bowling alley Friday. WCPO-TV in Cincinnati says the full investigation could take up to six weeks.
Authorities say David Geiger died Thursday after his clothes became tangled in the machinery while he was trying to repair it.
Police say there were customers and other employees at the bowling alley at the time, but no one saw what happened.
