Pastor Admits Affair, Dies of Heart Attack

Bobby Davis admitted that he had an affair and then died of a heart attack right after. On March 14, NewsOXY reported that Davis, a pastor, had a massive unexpected heart attack after coming clean about his extramarital affair after Sunday's mass at Miracle Faith World Outreach Church (which he founded) in Bridgeport, Conn.
"After the service on Sunday, the bishop’s family asked us to remain in the church and the bishop confessed to us something that happened long ago. He wanted to come clean with all of us. He wanted to ask our forgiveness," said parishioner Judy Stovall (via NewsOXY).
Bobby Davis' affair wasn't the reason he died -- but many believe that the stress of it all may have contributed to his heart attack. Davis and his wife, Christine, recently celebrated their 50-year wedding anniversary. It's unclear when he had an affair but it is clear that he wanted forgiveness -- that he was ashamed and that he wanted to come clean about what he had done. Some believe that it was his wife who encouraged him to tell churchgoers of his misstep -- and their support was overwhelming.
"We were shouting, 'We forgive you, we love you,’ but the stress of all of it — he had a heart attack. I held his head as he lay on the floor … Our congregation is hurting now," continued Stovall. Davis was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
After Bobby Davis' affair admission and subsequent death, police launched an investigation. It is unknown if police suspect foul play could have been involved.
