NEW YORK (WABC) -- A taxi rider is in critical condition after jumping out of a cab on the FDR Drive late Wednesday.
The passenger was headed north on the FDR when the cab got stuck in traffic at 96th Street around 11:30 p.m.
He apparently didn't want to wait for the car to move again, so he jumped out and tried to run across the highway. He was then struck by the driver of a minivan headed south.
